Ryan and Jane reign over twenty three
Ryan Tanner beat a 23 player field this evening winning £92 for his efforts. It was a brief heads up against Jane Davidson who won £69. Bazzer, freshly returned from Brussels Brexit negotiations won £46 in third and in fourth Harry Mutter, playing his season's joker, £23. The evening's bubble boy was Jonathan Cook. It was great to see Chloe Putman, Jack Lampard Yates, Luke Yates, Alfie Yates and Chunks. These results made some significant changes to the Inbetweeners and Young Pretenders leagues, with Harry and Ryan now topping them respectively.
Déjà vu .... Heads up battle repeated
The two finalists in the March 6 went to war again on March 13 in the culmination of the 20 player tournament, but this time, Jonno Vulture Cook took the bragging rights from Peter The Coach Woodcock. In third was Louis Iceman Mockett, who entered the final table with a monster stack and fourth Tony Barnsley Simmonds. Our bubble boy was Harry Mutter.
The game missed Barry Rebuy Freeman who was on a trip to Brussels as a preliminary to our Brexit negotiations.
Tremendous £455 raised with fun and games
An alternative competition night was held at The Avenue Bridge Club on Friday, March 24. Poker players tried bridge and bridge players experienced poker. There was also tastes of Ave Caesar, Bausac, Scrabble and a raffle.
Good fun was had by all, raising a great £455 total,
Peter is our new season’s Top of the Pops
Hi there pop pickers. Rising to fifth place tonight was Dan Bruncak with his number 'I'm forever blowing bubbles', in fourth Caroline Mulliner with 'Marian the librarian' (You Yube it), in third Barry Freeman with 'Heaven at 88A' , in second Jonathan Cook with a theme from 'Lucky Pants' and this week's top of the pops was Peter Woodcock with a remake of The Who's 'Magic Bus'. The win was predicted by Jamie Cleaver at a very early stage.
Great fishing for Bruncak!
Spot the difference?
The Fisherman won again (£84)! Heads up against Callum Poole (£63). In third Orlando Lopez (£42) and fourth Peter 'Pedro' Woodcock (£21). On the bubble, but the only top tabler of all games so far this season .... the one and only Harry Mutter! A very early bath for Jonno that we have a new league leader.
There’s an uncanny likeness between Dan Bruncak and infamous poker film ‘Rounders’ Oreo munching John Malkovich playing Teddy KGB! And not just visually.
